What is it with musicians dying in weird ways? (We're not counting early deaths from drugs, alcohol, cancer, or AIDS.) I swear normal people don't die in weird ways as often. Maybe it's just that we hear about them. Buddy Holly, Aaliyah, John Denver, Lynyrd Skynyrd (two real band members), Jeff Buckley . . . Can you think of more examples?
Please enjoy "Hallelujah." It's beautiful at so many levels, I could write a paper about it. (Watch out, psychoanalysis.)
There's also another lovely version by some Norwegian guys with big heads. (The dark-headed, non-guitarist has an especially nice voice.)
It's too bad that the guy who wrote it (Leonard Cohen) made it horrible. It's so awful it makes me wince!
