Thunk You

For some reason, when people here compliment my German, it's an automatic invitation for my mind to blank and my tongue to spurt out something stupid. Several times I've been embarrassed to find myself saying, "Denke" instead of "Danke." That may not seem like much of a difference to you, but imagine that you told a foreigner that they spoke good English and they responded by saying, "Thunk you."
