iPod Complaint

I'm one of those people who doesn't like a lot of volume, and I often like to listen to my iPod when I'm trying to fall asleep. But my new iPod's volume won't go quiet enough; even when it's supposedly off (the bar of volume has disappeared completely), there is still sound coming out that is more than I want while falling asleep.

Has anyone else noticed that the newer iPods don't turn all the way down? That bugs.
