On Wednesday I watched a movie contrasting the love in a lined-up Indian marriage and the children's marriages by choice. The lined-up marriage turned out better. They really learned to love each other. Unfortunately, there was also a contrast between freedom of careers, travel, etc., and the lack thereof.
Then yesterday I saw Thoroughly Modern Millie at Hale Center Theatre. Muzzy tells Millie to go for the love, not the money, not the modern "business deal," but the love.
What is the point of marriage, anyway?
Do people ever get married just for the companionship?
