Can't We All Just Get Along?

Looking at adapters today, I found that the one on sale for 20.00 had only two holes and no surge protector, but it did have high and low for different watts and more shapes for more countries.

The one on sale for 11.00 had surge protection and three holes, but no watt adjusting.

Can't we all just get along?

I think this would be a good time to bring up the fact that I am all for America taking the metric system. Sure, there would be a learning gap, but we could have both measurements everywhere for a few years, and then people would just be expected to figure it out. Same thing goes with the football/soccer thing. Seriously.
