Some More Ramblings

I finished my shelf taping last week. Sore shoulders and a marked-off chart are satisfying. However, I have this nagging feeling I should help some other people with theirs . . .

Grandpa wants me to fly to Cali with him for the cruise. Normally, I would love to do so, but the family is going to this amusement park that is rumored to be really cool, and it has roller coasters, which I love. I'm torn . . . if I were trying to save time off, it would be fine. But the parentals are leaving on a Saturday anyway. Darn. Who knows where I'll even be by then?

When I played basketball on Thursday, the other girls were obviously better than I was, but one of them said, "You must be a cross-country runner. You've been running the entire time and you're not even winded." I realized it was true that I wasn't winded. I have no idea why, maybe from taking the stairs at work and running, running, running all day long? I haven't run for several months (too cold outside), but I must say that running with competition in mind (guarding or going to do a layup) is much more satisfying than just being miserable and running in random directions.

If I were to interview for a job right this minute, in my head I imagine it going something like this:

"So, why do you want to work here?"
"Meh, I don't know."
"Okay . . . well, what did you do in your last job?"
"Offend a lot of people, but it doesn't really matter, does it?"
"What is one interesting thing about you?"
"Interesting things have no point, do they? Just a way to keep us from remembering that there is no point."
"Well then . . . thanks for coming in." Mutters under breath: "I can't believe we wasted our time on this imbecile."
"Whatever."
